“Radioactive (Synchronice Remix)” by Imagine Dragons

When I first heard “Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons, I knew it was going to be a huge hit with electronic and alternative fans alike: the sweeping vocals, subtle guitar, and heavy background bass make for a song that appeals to fans of multiple genres.  Synchronice, a DJ duo known for their melodic dubstep remixes, goes heavy on the synth and bass (reminiscent of a Seven Lions remix) in their take on “Radioactive”.  It’s dubstep with heart, and with some serious melody.  Give their Facebook page a like, grab the download below, and keep an eye out for their new EP Countdown, set to release on iTunes and Beatport.

“By Your Side” by Zeds Dead

It’s been a few months since we’ve heard anything new from Toronto-based Zeds Dead.  Their last release, “Ratchet”, was an impressive trap anthem, but a real departure from the classic ZD sound that many have fallen in love with.  ”By Your Side” is a return to that exact style, a chill-step track light on the vocals and heavy on the bass.  The track definitely reminds me of some of my favorite songs off the Victor EPand is a solidly executed, chilling tune from the masters of bass.  Pick up the free download below.

“Say My Name (Aylen Trap Bootleg)” by Porter Robinson

aylen

Andrew Lin, or Aylen as he is known to the SoundCloud world, has been stepping it up with every remix he releases.  I’ve been a huge fan of many of his remixes, some favorites including Deniz Koyu’s “Follow You”, Wolfgang Gartner’s “Redline”, and Zedd’s “Spectrum” (all of which can be downloaded for free on his SoundCloud account).  He turns to trap with this Porter Robinson bootleg, and instead of mixing “Language” or “Easy” like every other DJ out there seems to be doing, he digs into the vaults and finds “Say My Name”.  I love his ability to keep the original tune intact, add a small vocal sample of his own, and throw in the classic “Say my name and you can say it with honor” before breaking out into an absolutely dirty trap beat.  Check out the free download, and make sure you give Aylen’s SoundCloud a look for some other great free remixes.

“Steal You Away (feat. Jonathan Mendelsohn)” by Dash Berlin & Alexander Popov (Official EDC Preview)

It’s been awhile since we’ve heard anything new from Dash Berlin, but this track with Alexander Popov was well worth the wait.  It premiered during Dash’s set at EDC Chicago this past weekend, and it’s quite the incredible track and has received plenty of positive attention.  The vocals from Jonathan Mendelsohn are on point throughout the song, which flirts with being both trance and progressive house (so I’m going to give it the “progressive trance” classification).  I love the vocals, the buildup, the synth use, and the overall feel of the track: definitely going to be another huge Dash Berlin hit.  Check it out, and I will keep you posted on the official release.
