“Somebody Loves Summer” by Titus Jones

3 years ago today, we lost one of pop music’s best selling music artists of all time, and to honor her memory we’d like to present Titus Jone’s mashup that features the one and only – Whitney Houston.

Jones did a stellar job with this mashup. Who would’ve ever thought that Betty Who and Houston can be held down by a mainstream beat?

It’s true. We all want somebody to dance with, so grab a friend or two, and shake that tail of yours.

WKND MZK: “It’s Very Simple”

"It's very simple" - pumpthebeat.com

This week was a difficult one in finding the right songs to fill this playlist. Hopefully you all find use of these. Seems like the line drawn between good music and music that is down right horrible is becoming more and more blurred these days. But what makes music ‘good’ be definition. That, my friend, is not set something set in stone.

Dillon Francis released his remix to “Some Chords” yesterday that will be on deadmau5 5 Years of Mau5 remix album coming soon. Make sure you check out the crazy “Work” remix. Pure festival shit. Should not have overlooked that Minnesota remix. Beyond that, it’s all over the place. Love the weekend.

3LAU Gets Bored On Flight And Creates This Mashup

I don’t know about you, but when I go on flights, I’m usually passed out onto the person next to me. Well, the same definitely doesn’t apply to our dude, Justin Blau.

This “mashup” was pretty much born from a 3-hour plane ride. We get a chopped up drop from tracks like “Selfie (Botnek Remix)” to “Bubble Butt (Dada Life Remix).” If you’re curious about what other samples were used, the entire list will be embedded below.

WKND MZK – “Right Now”

So last week’s playlist seemed to do alright so why not take another shot at it. I put these together so that you all can get a different taste of what’s out there. Songs can be interpreted and felt much differently depending on thousands of variations. With what I have for you below, maybe it will make you feel some type of way. Right Now.

“Cooler Than Latch” by White Panda (Disclosure ft. Sam Smith vs. Mike Posner)

The White Panda has been on a tear this week releasing a new remix everyday. Today they mixed up everyones favorite, “Latch”, with Mike Posner’s “Cooler Than Me”. The result is pretty catchy and not a bad choice for a summer time song. Good choice here as they literally would have to try really hard to mess up a Mike Posner & Disclosure mash-up. The other remixes are below so check those out too. Here comes the weekend!

“Insane (White Panda Vocal Edit)” Flume Ft. Kanye West

Flume x Kanye West, you cannot go wrong with that. White Panda threw Kanye’s “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” vocal over Flume’s track “Insane.” First of all, “Insane” by itself is an incredible song. It contains every element to exactly describe what Flume is about. Second of all, old Kanye is unarguably one of the best rappers of all time. Combining the vocals over this crazy chillstep beat was a fantastic idea. Flume is hot right now and I love White Panda’s decision to release this vocal edit. They did a great job with this track making Ye’s vocals flow smoothly over the pulsing beat. I was extremely pumped to come across this song and it’ll definitely be on repeat all day!

“Hold On Be Strong vs. Big Poppa (Matoma Remix)” by Matoma

23-year-old Matoma from Norway decided to add his own style to Biggie and Tupac’s vocals for this epic mash up. This genre is described as Nu-Disco having the 90’s lyrics mixed with the nu-disco dance beats.  The transitions aren’t flawless but Matoma does a fantastic job producing a groovy beat that Notorious and Tupac’s vocal can flow right over. The electro rap infused disco track is perfect for any chill feeling environment.
