Staying true to form, singer & songwriter Hoodie Allen made his triumphant return to Toronto this past weekend for an out-and-out party inside the Phoenix Concert Theatre.
Backed by a live band, Hoodie brought a new element to his performance which seamlessly blurred the lines between rock and hip-hop. Through this imaginative format, Hoodie’s music emulated a sense of depth that hasn’t been seen before. As a multi-dimensional artist, Hoodie’s strength lies in his ability to write evocative music. By curating a set list featuring tracks from his entire discography, fans were given a glimpse into Markowitz’s story, in a way that was carefree and borderline raucous.
Hoodie performed hit tracks such as All About It ft. Grammy-Award winning artist Ed Sheeran, along with his acoustic rendition of Two Lips. As expected, the former Google-employee closed out the show with his breakthrough single No Interruption. From confetti showers to crowd-surfing on an inflatable, Hoodie is living proof that anything can happen, even without a label. The Hype is real.
