We’ve seen genres combined before. Trap music for example, is almost exclusively a collaboration between rap and electronic music. What Mt. Eden has done is blend the sounds of Indie with their exclusive electronic sound; the following ends with a creation that is groundbreaking. In my humble opinion, “Fall With You” is, without a question, revolutionary; one of the most important songs to arrive within the electronic music community within the past decade.
For a significant number of people, Mt. Eden was their first introduction to electronic music. The glorious singing at the start of “Sierra Leone” will always hold a special place in my heart, marking my own exploration into new genres, and sounds. We fell in love with Mt. Eden at the beginning, and fall in love again. Maybe it’s the addition of somber strings droning on in the background, or the combination of raspy vocals, echoing those of Manchester Orchestra – the wide array of sounds they have managed to coherently blend together allows “Fall With You” to stand out among the rest.
Mt. Eden at one point or another, held a special place in all of our hearts (and ears). With the release of “Fall With You,” a song that defies standard rules and expectations, they have reinstated their status in our minds. Not only have they managed to create a sound, so unique that it rivals no others, and every producer all at once, but they have also managed to create a feeling. “Fall With You” is an important release, and topples over the competition. Mt. Eden performs at the top of their game again and again – as Sierra Leone was once the most popular dubstep song on Youtube, expect “Fall With You” to reach greater heights.
