Today is a sad day for the music industry, earlier today an announcement came from SwedishHouseMafia.com that announced the disbandment of the trio (Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello, and Axwell) that were formerly known as Swedish House Mafia.
“Today we want to share with you, that the tour we are about to go on will be our last. We want to thank every single one of you that came with us on this journey. We came, we raved, we loved.”
This message was signed by all three of the DJ’s at the end and to which they added “A/K/A Swedish House Mafia”. Remaining tour dates include the Milton Keynes Bowl on July 14th, dates at Ushuaia Ibiza July 4th – August 29th, and the Friends Arena in Sweden on November 24th. They also wrote that a “final leg of this journey” that will be announced in August.
HOWEVER, before they disband, they have officially announced the release of their last song on July 16th, entitled “Don’t You Worry Child”. SHM proclaimed that the production will make even grown men cry and to be honest, I don’t doubt it. I have a feeling this is going to be the best track we have heard of out them so far and that it will be played for a long, long time.
R.I.P to the group that arguably was one of the most influential EDM artists ever. They were one of the main groups to break the barrier and spread their love for the music across the globe. They will forever be known for their legendary performances and unmatchable production masterpieces.
