San Holo has created his own record imprint called ‘Bitbird’, and with the release of “Still Looking,” the track becomes an incredible debut for the artist’s newly established project. It’s an upbeat, summer-vibe EDM song, with all the qualities of a quintessential, genre-breaking hit. Featuring a complete change in sound midway through, much the way J Cole’s “G.O.M.D” brought itself attention, “Still Looking” serves as our little slice of original heaven, with something for everyone.
One thing is certain: if each release on Bitbird can follow the quality and originality of “Still Looking,” the imprint is a guaranteed success. There is no question as to why the track has racked up over 350,000 plays on soundcloud (with no signs of slowing down), and it’s general knowledge that another song of this caliber could reach far beyond. “Still Looking” also serves as Bitbird’s debut single for their upcoming compilation album, “Gouldian Finch.”
Described as a mix of future-bass and future-trap, the future seems bright. While trap is often aggressive, San Holo has managed to keep a peaceful vibe, while allowing the song’s pace to soar. An inherent lack of bass is re-purposed with the over exaggeration of high pitched bursts of synth, leading to feeling and emotion in a tightly wound creation. “Still Looking,” is a beautiful track for a beautiful future – expect more from Bitbird, and wait with us in anticipation.
