Mixtape: “New Jet City” by Curren$y

Curren$y is one of my favorite rap artists. Not because he makes outstanding tracks that you’ll find in my Top 25 Most Played, but because he releases a lot of quality tracks both free and not, and his laidback, signature style is unique and refreshing. Spitta’s new mixtape, “New Jet City,” isn’t my favorite of his many releases, but it definitely has its standout tracks. In addition to those I’ve included below, I’d recommend checking out “Mary” and “Clear (Feat. Jadakiss)” if you decide to download the whole mixtape.

“Still Dreamin” by Kinetics & One Love ft. Jadakiss, Termanology

Kinetics & One Love is one of the most underrated duo in hip-hop. I was going around Facebook to see how their fan page was doing, and they have around 14k fans. A few things. The music video for “Sign Language” is coming out soon (one of the best songs by them). Second, they’re music writers for Universal Music. I think these are enough reasons. These guys deserve more. So, if you’re not a fan of them on FB, shoot them a “Like.”

Sarah’s Summer Playlist

So I saw #91′s summer playlist and it inspired me to create my own for you guys. It’s a mix of new and old school hip-hop with a little bit of some classic summer reggae in there – so it’s a little bit all over the place. I essentially went through my ‘recently played’ iTunes playlist and picked songs that I not only listen to every day but ones that I thought you would enjoy listening to, too! I hope your summer is full of sunshine, growth, productivity but most importantly friends and time to relax. :) (P.S. The picture is of the most delicious rum drinks you will ever drink!)

“Pride N Joy” by Fat Joe, Kanye West, Miguel, Jadakiss, Mos Def, DJ Khaled, Roscoe Dash & Busta Rhymes

Another Fat Joe single with a huge ass feature list. Supposedly all these guys are on the hook and the intro and shit but it’s hard to distinguish all their voices. I think it’s Roscoe mostly on the hook. It’s not a bad song actually so you all should at least give it a little preview.
