This song was one of the very first songs I posted back when I joined PumpTheBeat over a year and a half ago. In fact, our older fans will recognize our old iTunes album cover, since I was too lazy to change it. Anyways, “Summertime” is one of my favorite songs of all time, and, despite the title and overall feel of the song, I listen to it year round, as it’s just a really laid back, catchy song that, coincidentally, samples Train. I know I tagged this post as Indie, but it really isn’t that; Mouth’s Cradle incorporated hip-hop, pop, and alternative elements as well. I’m not really a fan of indie, as evidenced by the fact that the genre only makes up 9/5300 of my library, so trust me non-indie and indie fans alike and give this a listen.
