These guys have been playing since 2005. I haven’t been a fan of house music for that long, but I can tell you this much, they were definitely one of the first artists I’ve ever listened to in that genre. Legends. Who would’ve ever thought that three massive names would come together to create one, unified group called Swedish House Mafia. Now, you can say whatever you want: “They just did it to make more money.” Now, this may be partially true, but you cant’t overlook the fact that these guys love what they’re doing and love their fans. It’s been a great 7 years. I’ve seen every individual SHM member live, but I cannot say that I’ve seen all of them together, on one stage.
Like many SHM fans, I can only hope to see them one last time. This track, “Don’t You Worry Child” truly engulfs you with emotion. Whether you can relate to it or not, you can’t help but think of the lyrics on a deep level. I’ve heard this song live about 5 times now, and every time, I can only feel intense emotions.
This music video isn’t a story with actors and actresses. No. This video shows the story of Swedish House Mafia and their end. Again, we circle around to the fact that they love their fans. Today, and probably for the rest of their existence as a group, SHM will be doing this for their fans. Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso have truly made a massive impact in this industry. Without them, we wouldn’t have great music like “Greyhound” and “Save The World.”
Honestly, if you couldn’t tell from what I’ve been saying, I’m going to miss these guys. But the spirit of SHM will always be around. We can only hope that they plan a reunion show some time in the future. But until then, we can only hope.
Again, to all of the SHM fans. We came. We Raved. We loved. Thanks Swedish House Mafia.
